The CHAT Festival — an acronym for “Collaborations in Humanities, Arts, & Technology” — represents a collaboration among academic and education partners in the Research Triangle of North Carolina. The goals of CHAT include bringing together researchers, educators, students, artists, and professionals to discuss, demonstrate, and celebrate new media in the arts and humanities. The biannual Festival was first hosted in 2010 at the University of North Carolina — Chapel Hill [site no longer active], reprised in 2012 at Duke University, and in 2014 came to North Carolina State University. Each festival was hosted by a Research Triangle university, and included participants from local faculty, staff and students from the co-sponsoring institutions, among others.
